The International Olympic Committee has approved Fukushima as one of the host regions for the 2020 Olympics. There may be a few hoops to jump through but even this news is uplifting and inspiring.It’s a testament to Japan and its people’s ability to resurrect themselves from the aftermath of such a deadly disaster. This will be a great moment to show the world how the country, and more importantly, the region, has recovered. A decade after the region was almost wiped out, the world’s eyes will again be on Fukushima, and they deserve it.
