“This festive season we have come out with new designs and oursales are going strong,” said Vijay Athavale, manager at Lagu Bandhu jewelleryshop in Panjim.
“The Goan speciality ornaments like goth, patli, pake,suranga valesar, phati, phula, galsari, kaan, aatti etc are designed by ourspecial artisans,” boasts Athavale.
With three branches in Dadar, Mumbai, one each at Borivali,Thane, Dombivali and Pune in Maharashtra, Oklahoma in the US, Lagu Bandhu setfoot in Goa since 2007. Since then Lagu Bandhu’s customer base has beengrowing.
A name synonymous with contemporary jewellery in pure gold,pearls, diamonds and gems, Lagu Bandhus have a long standing with customers since1934.
Lagus started their Bombay operations from Dadar where theyfounded their business in 1936. Showing steady growth the company evolved froma proprietary firm to a partnership concern and gradually registered as aprivate limited company in 1989.
“Lagus forayed into the trade of diamonds in 1997 andparticipated in exhibitions in the USA and Dubai, later to branch out inOklahoma City,” states Athavale.
Diversifying the business of gold jewellery in 2008, Lagusare now specialised in studded jewellery of diamonds and precious stones.
