Tata Motors has introduced ‘Tata Alert’, a highwayassistance programme for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, which will beavailable across all national highways in India. Through ‘Tata Alert’, driverswill receive on-site breakdown assistance within four hours of dialing atoll-free helpline number (1800-209-7979). The 24x7 ‘Tata Alert’ service willensure that a vehicle is put back on the road within 48 hours from the timerestoration work begins. In case of major repairs and the vehicle carryingperishable goods, ‘Tata Alert’ will provide load transfer assistance.

Mahindra’s used car market expands
Mahindra First Choice Wheels Ltd (MFCWL), India’s No 1multi-brand certified used car company has reached a new milestone with its panIndia network comprising of 200 outlets. The idea at MFCWL is to ensure that customerscome in with trust and walk out with pride. Mahindra First Choice Wheels is thecountry’s preferred used car mart and is India’s largest multi-brand player,with 200 outlets in over 100 towns across India. The company plans to expandthis number to 500 outlets in the next three years. This implies that customerswill soon be able to choose from a range of certified used cars throughoutIndia, including the metros and tier-2 towns and cities.
GCCI initiative to boost retail trade
In a bid to boost retail sales and stimulate the localeconomy during the upcoming festive season, GCCI and its Retail Committee haveconceived the printing of a booklet of promotional coupons covering selectestablishments in Goa. Entitled ‘Proˬmoz’, this booklet seeks to add value toconsumer shopping and encourage more local buying. This booklet will be sentalong with the November issue of the ‘GCCI Bulletin’ to the Chamber’s membersand other dignitaries. A limited number will be kept in select retail outlets. As an incentive to generate footfalls withinthe establishments, there will be special prizes including for the personredeeming the maximum number of coupons by the December 31. The prizes will beannounced in January 2013.
