Talented special children brought fun and joy to the premises of Sanjay centre for special education on Saturday as the centre organised the Madachem Fest, a coconut themed festival that entailed special children showcasing their skills in various activities.
Inspector General of Police Jaspal Singh graced the event as chief guest, and released the magazine at the programme. While speaking on this occasion, Singh congratulated the students for their outstanding work and stated that the management and the teachers of Sanjay Centre for Special Education have done a commendable job by providing a platform to the students to display their talents. “These children certainly need appreciation and encouragement from every section of the society so that they can stand on their own feet,” said the IGP.
The Chairman of Sanjay Centre for special education mentioned that this programme ‘Madachem fest’ has been organised to encourage the differently abled children to become self-reliant and be independent citizens of this country.
During this programme sewing machines were delivered to four students namely Lourdes Fernandes, Shakshi Vaigankar, Saish Gauns and Rahkhi Shirodkar. The annual magazine of the Centre was also released at the hands of IGP .Jaspal Singh .
Later, students presented a culture programme which included Sambha dance, Mando, Fugdi etc. Earlier in the morning a rally was taken out which started from the Porvorim Police station and culminated at Sanjay Centre.
