The Indian Left Hander Club is the first ever social platform in India, a nonprofit organization which is established with the vision of betterment of left handed community in the country. Throughout the year the club organises various activities for its members and a special one on International Left Handers day, on August 13. The major activities of this club includes Lefty's Got Talent, a talent book with profiles of talented left handed students; 10000 copies of this book are going to be published.
The club also extends its support to talented and needy left handed students from to class 1st to 12th under the program Albert Einstein Scholarship for Left Handed Junior Genius.
Besides this, left handed entrepreneurs and women also can avail financial and other supports under Mother Teresa Lefty Empowerment Program.
World's first Left Hander's
Museum in Goa
The Indian Left Hander Club will be inaugurating the World's first ever museum for left handers at Goa on August 13 at Big Foot Museum, Goa on the lines of the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum(London). The museum will exhibit statues of world's top 21 successful left handed personalities irrespective of their field. The club also plans to have more than 100 statues of successful Indian and international left handed personalities.
Besides this, the club will present the highlights of these famous personalities to the viewers. This museum is a joint initiative with Big Foot Museum, Goa.
International Left Hander's Day
As the world celebrates Left-handers on August 13, you can also be a part of this unique celebration. The Indian Left Hander Club, currently has over 1 lakh members and invites left-handers to be a member by filling a membership form available on the website - www.indianlefthanderclub.com. Every year the club organises various activities for its members and one special activity on International Left Handers day.
The major activities of this club includes Lefty's Got Talent which is a talent book wherein Profiles of talented left handed students will be published and 10000 copies of the book are going to be published.
Talented left handed students of Class 1st to 12th, undergraduates, graduation and post graduatio will also be felicitated for their academic excellence on the same day at Big Foot Museum, Goa. Shripad Naik, (Union Ayush Minister), Govind Gaude, (Art & Culture Minister - Goa) and Michel Lobo (Dy. Speaker - Goa Assembly) will grace the event.
This whole programme is led by The Goan in School (TGIS) in association with Indian Left Hander Club. These young talented aspirants will be honored by the ministers and dignitaries.
What happened last year
The Goan in School staged the biggest gathering of left handed people in one place, last year on August 13, 2016, as the celebrations of International Left Handers' Day unfolded at the International Centre in Dona Paula, Goa. The event, which entered the Indian Book of Record and The Asia Book of Records had around 300 lefties participating. It was organised by The Goan in School in association with the Indian Left Hander Club.
The event was aimed at creating awareness about both positive and negative sides of left-handedness. Renowned Marathi actress and author Dr Nishigandha Wad, herself a lefty, graced the function as Chief Guest.
The event culminated with the biggest lefty selfie chain where 50 children posed wearing "I support Amitabh Bachchan for Bharat Ratna' t-shirts. This activity also gained a place in India and Asia Book of Records.
