The Goan and Mangalorean Konkani Community of Holy Family Co-Cathedral, Kuwait, celebrated Christmas 2025 with deep faith, joy and unity at the Holy Family Hall, Kuwait City on December 11.
The vibrant celebration brought together families, children and parishioners, reflecting the true spirit of Christmas – love, sharing and fellowship.
The festive evening commenced with a prayer service followed by melodious carol singing, which filled the cathedral premises with devotion and Christmas cheer.
The spiritual atmosphere set a perfect tone for the celebration, drawing the faithful into a moment of reflection and gratitude.
Children of the community added colour and enthusiasm to the programme with coordinated dance performances. Their excitement and grace were warmly appreciated by the gathering.
SKITS, SONGS, MANDO
Adding an element of humour blended with meaningful messages, adults from the community staged entertaining comedy skits.
Special emphasis was placed on the younger members of the community, who were delighted with the distribution of Christmas goodies, spreading smiles and festive joy among the children.
The celebration concluded on a warm and generous note with the distribution of dinner packs to all present, symbolising the values of sharing and unity that Christmas embodies.
The event was organized by the Goan & Mangalorean Konkani Community, Kuwait, under the spiritual guidance of Fr Antony Lopez, JCD, Chancellor and Judicial Vicar.
COMMUNITY REPRESENTATION
The community leadership was represented by Carmo Santos (Goan Community Leader) and Cyril Lobo (Mangalorean Community Leader).
The programme was compered by Clifford D’Souza and Gracy Rodrigues, who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest Fr Orfin Menezes (Goa), and special guests that included Fr Darel Fernandes (Parish Priest of Ahmadi Church), Fr Avil Fernandes (Parish Priest of St Daniel Comboni Church, Abbasiya), along with priests of various communities from Holy Family Co-Cathedral.
The presence of the Carmelite Nuns, Sr Vinitha (Superior) and Sr Betsy, further enriched the occasion.
FELICITATIONS
During the event, the community honoured and felicitated different personalities in appreciation of their service and generous support. They were Fr Dominic Santamaria (Assistant Parish Priest, Holy Family Co-Cathedral, Kuwait), Lawrence Saldanha (Prominent Businessman and Community Donor), Praveen Menezes (Prominent Businessman and Community Donor) and Tony Dias (Prominent Businessman and Community Donor).
MESSAGE OF CELEBRATION
The Christmas celebration stood as a testimony to the unity, cultural richness and active participation of the Konkani community in Kuwait, nurturing a spirit of togetherness.
As the community joyfully awaits the birth of Christ Jesus, the evening rekindled the true meaning of Christmas – love, humility, generosity and peace.
Filled with gratitude, the community now look forward with joyful anticipation to celebrating Christmas Day and stepping into the New Year, trusting that God’s blessings, grace and guidance will continue to unite and lead the community in the days ahead.
