Dining under the stars

Tanishka Nagvenkar

Goa is a state of sun, sea, and of course, a range of seafood from local cuisine to Indian, Continental and Mediterranean. The multi cuisine heritage of Goa has given birth to a number of restaurants, fusing and experimenting with the food in order to bring out the best flavours. One such place we know of is the Lobster Village at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, well known for its sea food which is of highest quality.

Situated on the beautiful and calm Benaulim beach, overlooking the Arabian Sea, Lobster Village offers its guest the experience of a splendid meal under the stars, Lobster Village by Taj has a lovely ambience that gives a feel of a very relaxed environment with the sound of gentle waves splashing on the beach and the breeze adding its soothing touch to a calm evening.

The restaurant welcomed us with the aroma of the food mixed with music from the sea. One look at the menu and our mouth watered. The cocktails “The Kiss of Goa” and “I’m Dressed in Red Dress” was a great start of the dining experience. “Truffle Asparagus Soup Cappuccino” specially recommended by the chef for the evening had a delicious taste of mushrooms. “Exotica House Salad” prepared with fresh home-grown leafy greens, cucumber, olives, feta and cherry tomatoes with citrus honey mustard dressing was definitely a healthy meal of the evening. For the main course, the lavishing “Goan Spiny Lobsters” served in peri-peri sauce gave the dish a marvellous taste and had been a true bliss to eat. What followed next was the succulent combination of “Grilled Sea Bass” with smashed potatoes and boiled vegetables along with four sauces which were garlic butter, chilly garlic, lemon butter and barbeque sauce that complimented the dish altogether. The good dining came to an end definitely with a good dessert. Nothing could have been better than the serving of Chocolate Walnut Brownie with Vanilla Ice-Cream and Classic Cream Caramel.

Together with its soothing ambience, delicious food, and excellent customer-friendly service, Lobster Village definitely promises a unique experience in the food landscape of Goa.
