Having launched her label Soleil in 2015, Aditi Bhalerao was so inspired by Goa that she decided that it was the perfect place to launch her new collection here.
" Goa as a state feels timeless yet modern every single time I visit and hence I decided to launch my resort wear line here," says Bhalerao, who turned heads with the collection showcase at the recent COMO India Beach Fashion Week Season 5 in Goa.
The collection, she states was inspired by the brand colors - black and white (the classics) and mint ( the contemporary). The print was developed into an abstract marble pattern that looks simple, chic and luxurious. The collection has a mix of day wear and evening wear styles in fitted and semi-fitted silhouettes with a constant of comfort in every ensemble.
Based in Pune, Bhalerao completed her masters in the UK and then went on to work with a retail brand/export house in Mumbai for few months. Eventually, she quit her job and decided to pursue the dream of starting her own label. After a year of research and development, finally she setup her studio in Pune and began Soleil. ‘Soleil' is the French word for sun which is often attributed as an ultimate symbol of a powerful and unbound existence, simple yet impactful appearance and light: a luxury we all own. Her label Soleil believes in a similar existence with respect to its brand philosophy. And Bhalerao reveals that it was her love for the artistic dressing of Europeans and classic yet contemporary style of power dressing, perfected in the Britain that led her to envision Soleil, as a women's wear label, made in India. Before opening studio she had taken freelance work and outsourced the designs for clients, which included friends, family, acquaintances and others who were acquired through word of mouth. She launched her first collection in March 2016. Her second collection got a great response holistically and that confidence provoked her to showcase her third collection at a fashion week.
Soleil contemplates fabrics that have a good drape and structure, juxtaposed with pleated and printed fabrics to add to its aesthetics. Followed by the people with distinct taste in clothing, Soleil has established a client base on a wide spectrum. A Soleil women is unbound, passionate and modern. She is an explorer, with love for fashion in a way that enhances her unique persona, states Bhalerao, who hopes to launch her flagship store in her hometown Pune sometime in the near future.
She currently stocks her clothes with the luxury multi-designer store ‘Kitsch' in Delhi as well as their online luxury portal ‘Rock n Shop'. Apart from stocking in Creo, she will also be stocking with Como in Goa. She also plans to stock up with some other multi-designer stores in Mumbai as well as fashion shows in near future which would definitely be a treat to those who seek originality as part of their identity, and settle for nothing but a perfectly tailored ensemble.
