In a spineless show of batsmanship, Margao CA lost to a more resilient Young Talent Academy by 30 runs in the semifinals of the Atma Malik under-17 tournament played at Vishvatmak College ground at Shahapur.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, the MCA colts did well to restrict Young Talent to 88 all out in
24.4 overs.
Om Madgaokar (4/18), Anvitah Bhobe (2/19), Chirag Naik (2/19) and Yash Kripal (1/17) bowled well.
Chasing 89 to win, the MCA batsmen made heavy weather of the target and from 21 for 1, folded up for 58 in 18.2 overs. Adarsh Singh (4/11), Satyam Ramesh (3/14) and Yash Tandel (2/11) were the star bowlers for Daman.
