Story
This is a short film by Goa Entertainment Syndicates. A child is sick with fever but the father takes the child along to please the God. In the morning the son is found missing. The ‘ghaddi’ tells the father that the God has hidden the son and the son will be found after the father pays a ransom of a male goat, coconuts and rice. The son is traced without the ransom being paid and there comes out the truth of wisdom versus superstitions.
Screenplay
The film is to the point and truly short in nature. The scenes unfolding are corollaries to the previous ones. The sequences therein are captivating and interesting.
Acting
The cast in the film is convincing and natural. The use of the Pernem dialect by the actors gives the film a true village simpleton feel. All actors combine well into a team and give the film a very natural feel.
Music
There are no songs in the film. The background music and score are effective. A theme song in the film could make it more effective. A song featuring the zatra was needed and is surely missing.
Cinematography
The film is well captured. The locales are justified and the shot selection is varied. The film is nicely edited. However, the actual zatra and a little more vision of the zatra would make the film convincing.
Direction
The film is nicely directed. All aspects of filmmaking are seen in the film. The suspense created is well maintained.
