Elfio was inclined towards music at a very tender age. His parish in Consua and the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour School Nagoa and St Thomas High School Cansaulim gave him the initial impetus to sing and develop his interest in music. Later he began playing the keyboard in his church of Our Lady of Livra Febres, Consua, under the watchful eyes of Albino Fernandes, a musician of repute, who gave him all the required backing to raise the bar of his musical talents, as he ventured to play outside the church for various programmes and events.
In 2006, Elfio was approached by Mini Mario, an acclaimed singer tiatrist to play for his ‘zomnivele fell’ (carnival plays). Elfio grabbed this opportunity with both hands and won accolades for his musical presentation. His acumen for music was noted by another tiatrist writer Tony Dias, who roped him in his troupe as a member of the musical band for the tiatr Maim ti Maim, which saw him touring Qatar.
Playing music he toured many states of India like Ahmedbad, Kolkata, Pune Mumbai, Karnataka besides international tiatr destinations like Qatar, Dubai, Kuwait and London in the troupes of Tony Dias, Milagres de Chandor and Samuel Carvalho and Maria Menezes.
In the year 2011, Elfio produced his maiden Konkani Album entitled Tum Mhozo featuring Goa’s singing sensations, Lorna, Sonia Shirsat, Acacio, Mark Revlon, Silvia, Gladrin and Cajy Pereira. All songs in this album were his original composition for which he won TAG Best Audio Album Award 2011 besides the best Duet Award. This album was also nominated in 2 categories for the Konkani Global Awards at Mannd Sobhan Mangalore, for Best Album and best female singer for Sonia Shirsat.
Migration is an inevitable phenomenon and the dream of a better tomorrow landed Elfio in the UK. Settling his life in the distant land along with his wife Natasha Saldanha, Elfio began his music journey in the UK too, arranging music for tiatrs by noted UK tiatr directors, Peter de Merces and S Caitan besides playing for Konkani musical shows.
Elfio is the most sought-after musician for konkani songs on YouTube and has arranged music for many Konkani artistes for Konkani songs ranging from traditional tiatr style to modern upbeat Konkani music. His own latest song PIXEA, a feat by Mark Revlon, composed by his wife Natasha, has crossed a million views.
In London, he produces his own music through his home music studio named ShaLa Musica. He has collaborated with many outstanding Goan and Indian musicians, technicians and sound engineers for the many songs he arranges music for, besides collaborating with internationally acclaimed musicians as well.
