PANAJI: Big Foot Goa Museum has launched its annual 20-day ‘Go Green’ campaign to promote environmental awareness and encourage people to protect and preserve nature. The campaign was inaugurated alongside the museum’s 22nd Annual Felicitation of SSCE toppers. As part of the event, fruit-bearing saplings were distributed to students, while local residents were encouraged to plant and care for trees to strengthen green cover in their communities.
A special highlight of the campaign was the symbolic planting of a sapling by Theo Lavi to mark his first birthday, underlining the message that caring for the environment should begin at an early age. The museum also organised a three-day Seed Bomb Workshop for schoolchildren and visitors. Participants prepared seed bombs using indigenous Goan tree species, including tamarind, jamun and amla. The seed bombs were distributed to visitors and prominent personalities with an appeal to scatter them in suitable open spaces to encourage the growth of native vegetation.
Around 10,000 seed bombs were distributed during the campaign. Held every year alongside Van Mahotsav, the initiative reflects the museum’s continued commitment to environmental conservation and inspiring communities to build a greener future.
