PANAJI: A blood donation camp organised by Wisdom Superspeciality Hospital, Miramar, in collaboration with Loving Hearts Goa, the MOHAN Foundation and the North Goa District Hospital Blood Bank, received an encouraging response on Saturday. Of the 42 people who registered for the camp, 34 were found eligible and donated blood. Most donors were hospital staff members, while several first-time donors also participated.
The camp was coordinated by hospital PRO Chetan and Loving Hearts Goa secretary Gabriel Pereira, who also serves as an Organ Donation Ambassador with the MOHAN Foundation. An organ donation information desk was set up to educate visitors and donors through awareness material and personal interactions. Pereira thanked donors for their contribution and highlighted that one unit of blood can save up to three lives. Organisers said the initiative aimed to strengthen voluntary blood donation and promote awareness about organ donation in Goa.
