Pamila Rodrigues, the first Goan lady Councillor elected to the Borough of Hounslow, has been leading a UK trade delegation to Goa for the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026.
The three-day summit from October 29 to 31 is being attended by international delegates, business leaders, and policymakers, as part of efforts to promote Goa as a global destination for business, innovation, entrepreneurship and investment.
When contacted, Rodrigues told The Goan that she along with with the Mayor of Hounslow, CEO of West London Chamber of Commerce Alan Rides, Mayor of Hounslow Ranjit Gill, prominent businessmen along with Dr Renu Raj, are attending the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit.
“The UK delegation is here in Goa to promote the Goan businesses as well as to look for investment and promote Hounslow as a destination for Indian investors to do business and invest in Hounslow. We are keen to promote trade between India and UK,” said Rodrigues.
“We had a meeting with the Mayor of Panjim, Rohit Monserrate, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, officials from the Vibrant Goa Foundation, and former union minister Suresh Prabhu.”
“We are trying our best to make sure that the best of Goa meets the best of Hounslow and the people from both the places and the communities benefit from this union through business and through cultural and social exchange.”

“We will have lot of business to business meetings with other delegates from different parts of the world, including Bahrain, US, and Africa. Our aim is to see how we can get more and more investments in Hounslow. Investments in Hounslow means generating new jobs, generating infrastructure, and it is a win-win situation for everybody involved to help with business technicalities,” said Rodrigues.
“We are looking forward to a positive partnership between Hounslow and Goa as well as with other parts of the world. I want to make a difference to the lives of people and the Goan diaspora in Hounslow and across the UK.”
“I also want to showcase Goa not just as a tourist destination, but as the next business destination.”
Rodrigues said she is very happy to lead the trade mission to Goa from the Borough of Hounslow Council of London, given her close ties to Goa, where she hails from.
“I want businesses in Goa to come and start up business in Hounslow, likewise Hounslow businesses to invest in Goa, so that both Goa and Hounslow will benefit the best from each other,” she added.
Hailing from Rachol-Goa, Pamila represents Hounslow Central Ward which includes the Hounslow High Street, making it one of the most economically and strategically significant wards in the borough.
