MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda defeated Goa Velha SC and moved to the quarterfinals of the 25th All Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club, at Chinchinim Church ground.
Both teams attacked each other from the start, but in the 14th minute, Hanslum Furtado put Don Bosco in the lead. In the 26th minute, a hard cross from Don Bosco's Elroy was miscleared by Goa Velha's defender Parsil Kankakar, resulting in an own goal and a 2-0 lead for Don Bosco.
Post-resumption, Cliff Baretto scored in the 39th minute making it 3-0. Edison Dais added another goal in the 44th minute bringing the score to 4-0. Two quick goals by Glen Fernandes in the 43rd minute and Richie in the 47th minute sealed the final score at 6-0 in favour of Don Bosco.
