Exuding confidence of winning the 2027 election, Curtorim Independent MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has said he would complete his vision for Curtorim in the next five years that would make a difference in the lives of the constituents.
Celebrating his birthday in the presence of supporters and well-wishers, the independent MLA, however, did not unveil his plans as to how he would go about the upcoming polls.
“I am indebted to the people of Curtorim constituency for having elected me to the Goa Legislative Assembly for four terms. I have worked for the people of the constituency. In my next term, I will put in hard work to complete my vision for Curtorim. I will make a difference to the people, irrespective of whether they vote for me or not,” he said, while addressing his supporters.
Saying that he could not provide jobs to the unemployed youth, Lourenco, however, said that he brought in a host of projects in the last four and a half years. “When I was in the Congress, I had to fight for a PHC and small roads. Leave alone a new police station building, I had to fight with the Congress government to approve my project,” he said.
Saying that the Almighty has given him the gift of working for the people, the MLA has promised to complete the remaining works in the next five years.
Referring to his critics questioning his work in the constituency, Lourenco said, “I salute my critics since because of them I have moved forward. Their criticism has only motivated me to work hard. I have taken my adversaries as stepping stones,” he said.
Supporters and well-wishers of the Independent MLA participated in the birthday celebrations on Sunday evening. Monday saw a host of people from all walks of life, including Ministers and MLAs, visiting his Curtorim residence to extend their birthday greetings.
