PANAJI: Emeritus Professor of Pathology Dr R G Wiseman Pinto conducted a postgraduate teaching programme at the renowned Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Bandra last week. The programme included lectures and discussions on a wide range of topics, including fungal and parasitic diseases, embolising agents in arteriovenous malformations, granular cell tumours, lactational breast changes, congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung, endometrial stromal tumours, mucinous adenocarcinoma of the gall bladder, tuberculosis and Ziehl–Neelsen staining, and lymphangioma of the parotid.
Consultants and fellows from the hospital’s histopathology department attended the programme. Dr Pinto, former head of pathology at Goa Medical College and former Dean of Goa University, currently heads the South Asian Academy of Cytopathology and Histopathology. The teaching programme was seen as a valuable academic exchange that helped promote advanced diagnostic practices and strengthen postgraduate training in pathology.
