SANGUEM: To promote Goa’s rich cultural traditions and encourage youth participation during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, social worker Satyawan Sanvlo Gaonkar of Ambdai, Sanguem, has organised a Ghumot Aarti workshop for youngsters in the area. The workshop will be held from July 27 to August 2, with daily sessions from 6.45 pm to 7.45 pm at Vitthal Mandir Hall, Sanguem. The week-long programme aims to create awareness about the traditional Ghumot Aarti and encourage the younger generation to preserve and participate in Goa’s cultural heritage during the festive season. The training sessions will be conducted under the guidance of Shubham Subhash Naik, who will teach participants the traditional style of performing Ghumot Aarti. Appealing to youth and other interested residents to take part, Satyawan Gaonkar said the initiative aims to ensure that the traditional art form continues to thrive and remains an important part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in the region.
