VASCO: The Goa Barge Owners Association has formed its new Executive Committee for 2026–27, with the newly elected members taking charge of the association’s affairs and issues related to Goa’s inland barge industry. The new committee officially assumed office on June 27 and held its first executive meeting on Friday at the association’s office in Vasco. During the meeting, members discussed key priorities for the year ahead and reiterated their commitment to protecting the interests of barge owners across the state.
Mahendra (Mayur) Parsekar has been elected President of the association, while Derrik Vales will serve as Vice-President. Rahul Naik has taken charge as Honorary Secretary and Alex Coutinho as Honorary Treasurer. The Executive Committee also includes Chandrakant Gawas, Raymond Desa and Rohit Parab as members.
