PANAJI: Goa’s Civil Defence volunteers participated in a multi-state mock exercise on cyclones and induced disasters across the State. At Junta House, Panaji, Superintendent of Police, Junior Staff Officer Civil Defence and District Commandant Home Guards Francisco Corte said six women and four men were rescued and provided medical assistance. Fourteen Civil Defence volunteers participated at Junta House, while around 60 took part across Goa. In North Goa, drills were held at Junta House, Candolim Beach, Temwada in Morjim and Shapora River in Sal. In South Goa, exercises were conducted at PES College, Farmagudi, Mormugao Port Authority in Vasco and Marksans Pharmaceuticals at Verna. Chief Warden Mohan Deshprabhu thanked the Police Department and other officials.
