PANAJI: The 12th edition of the Goa Hospitality Show, featuring hotel and restaurant equipment and supplies, is underway at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim. Organised by Media Promotions and Hospitality First, the exhibition will remain open till August 14, from 11am to 7pm. The expo was inaugurated by GCCI president Pratima Dhond, TTAG president Jack Sukhija, NRAI Goa treasurer Rajesh Salgaocar and other industry representatives. Over 100 companies are showcasing more than 1,000 products, including kitchen and bakery equipment, crockery, linen, refrigeration systems, IT solutions, furniture, lighting, housekeeping products and waste management systems. AITUC to hold Goa state conference on August 16 PANAJI: The Goa State Committee of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will hold its 13th Conference on August 16 at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji. The conference will begin at 9 am after the flag is hoisted by leader Atmaram Gawas. President Prasanna Utgi will move the condolence resolution. The conference will review AITUC’s activities and discuss measures to strengthen the organisation and safeguard workers’ rights. It will deliberate on economic challenges, livelihood concerns and labour law amendments. Office bearers and General Council members will be elected, along with delegates for the national conference in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in November.
IRIS expands Aroma Towers range to 20 fragrances
PANAJI: IRIS Home Fragrances has expanded its flagship Aroma Towers collection from three to 20 in-house fragrances, targeting growing demand for premium home and ambience fragrance products. The company unveiled the expanded range along with its seasonal and festive gifting portfolio at a media interaction in Panjim. Backed by 77 years of fragrance expertise, IRIS has products including reed diffusers, scented candles, potpourri, fragrance sachets, vapourisers and gift hampers. IRIS currently has a presence in more than 8,500 retail outlets and aims to reach 14,000 by 2027. The company is also focusing on hospitality, particularly hotels and resorts, with smart fragrance diffuser solutions. Goa is among its key markets, given its strong tourism and hospitality sector.
Woman found dead in Canacona after Insta post
CANACONA: A 22-year-old Chhattisgarh woman in a six-year live-in relationship allegedly died by suicide at her rented room in Bhatpal, Canacona, after posting an Instagram story on Wednesday. Canacona police identified her as Kumari Durgavati Bai of Jashpur, who lived with partner Vishnu Ram, also from Jashpur. Both had worked in Goa for four years. Ram told police that at 12.30 pm on Thursday, while working at Loliem, he saw her Instagram story and rushed home. Finding the doors locked, he pushed open the back door and found her in the kitchen. She was taken to CHC Canacona, where doctors declared her brought dead. Police registered an unnatural death case under Section 194 of BNSS.
