PANAJI: The Goa Bird Conservation Network will host the 11th Carl D’Silva Memorial Lecture at the Terminal Banquet Hall, Caculo Mall, Panaji, on August 30 from 4.30 pm. Author and researcher Pankaj Sekhsaria will deliver a lecture titled “Great Nicobar: An Island on the Brink”, examining the environmental, social and legal implications of the proposed Great Nicobar mega infrastructure project. He will also launch his latest book, ‘Island on Edge’, which explores the project and the future of India’s islands. The annual lecture honours renowned Goan wildlife artist Carl D’Silva, a founding member and mentor of the Network. The event is open to all and will be of interest to conservationists, researchers, students, birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
New rules notified for dental profession
PANAJI: The State government has notified a new set of rules under the National Dental Commission, revamped in 2023, to govern the setting up of the State Dental Council, the Register of Dentists and various activities and functions related to the dental profession.
