MARGAO: Calangute Veterans downed Colva Veterans 3-1 to enter the semi-final of the All Goa late Clement Memorial veterans football tournament, organised by Youth of Fatrade, at Varca ground.
Sudan Manjrekar struck first goal for Calangute in the 10th minute, followed by Sebastian Fernandes capitalising on a defensive error to end the first half with a 2-0 lead for Calangute. Colva Veterans regrouped in the second half with Jess Cardozo finding the net. Colva keeper Manoj Kesarkar's saves kept Colva in contention but despite Colva's efforts, Calangute's Bruno Coutinho's stunning volley in the 45th minute secured the win for Calangute.
