MARGAO: Curtorim Boys edged past Milagres Boys Nuvem 2-1 to move to the quarter-finals of 4th all Goa inter-village open football tournament, organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Davorlim club ground, Laymati, on Monday.
Milagres Boys had the first chance to score in the seventh minute but Macklin Coutinho's shot was off target. Veron Fernandes opened the score-line for Curtorim Boys in the 24th minutes with header from a corner-kick.
In second session, Veron Fernandes completed his brace due to misjudgment in defence and goalkeeping. Later, in the last quarter of match, Alloid Colaco scored from the penalty spot as he was brought down in the danger area. In the last minutes of game, Milagres Boys Nuvem missed the opportunity to score the equaliser as Joywin missed a header.
