The Diocesan Youth Centre organised a Lenten Retreat for the youth of the Archdiocese of Goa-Daman at the Taleigao Community Centre on March 15. Over 1,000 participants experienced the unique spiritual encounter. The DYC team; the Diocesan Executive Committee (DEXCO), under the guidance of its Director, Fr Blaise Lobo, along with the support of 60 volunteers, executed the programme on the theme ‘Take Courage’ (Jn.16:33). The entire venue was adorned with many creative setups crafted under the guidance of Fr Jovial Fernandes and Fr Dyrel Dias. The DEXCO, along with the volunteers, also organised biblically based interactive activities.
The youngsters were energised by the beats of the ‘Knight and Day’ band during praise and worship sessions, followed by an input session on ‘Take Courage’, by Fr Ramiro Luis. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop Simião Purificação Fernandes. The day also included the Sacrament of Confession and solemn Eucharistic Adoration. The retreat concluded with an interactive activity, leaving participants with a sense of reflection, renewal, and courage.
