Empowering the medical staff of the government health centres and panchayat bodies with yoga on the International Yoga Day, ‘Yoga in Goa’ also felicitated these Covid frontline warriors for their contribution towards the society. The programme was held in two sessions, first being at Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Stadium and the second, at the Taleigao Community Hall in the presence of Gurudas Desai, deputy collector SDM, Panaji.
A team of doctors from Covid centres in and around Panaji including Dr Ruben (consultant in-charge of the Covid Care Centre at Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Stadium), Dr Kedar Raikar, Dr Jude D’Souza (Urban Health Care Centre, Chimbel), Dr Oswald (health officer, Urban Health Centre, Panaji), Sandip Warlikar (in charge of Covid Care Centre) along with businessman Raj Tendulkar were felicitated on the occasion for their contribution in fighting against Covid.The ‘Yoga in Goa’ team along with the Directorate of Health Services and the Taleigao Panchayat members conducted yoga sessions for the medical team of the health centres at Chimbel, Bambolim and Santacruz at the Taleigao Community Centre. After the invocation song by the Isha Samskruti students, Hatha Yoga teacher Christabel Pinto conducted a yoga session. The participants were guided on the right diet before they started meditating.
