The Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) will release the book ‘Ximpio’, a collection of essays by Aldona Parish Priest Fr Tomas Lobo at St Thomas Church, Aldona, on October 11 at 10.30 am.
Fr Boniface Furtado, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman and DKA President Vincy Quadros will preside over the function.
In a press note, the DKA stated that the book contains around 46 essays, divided into four categories, namely youth, family, children and society. The essays are with moral and ethics which depicts the character of the writer.
“Fr Tomas took the advantage of creating awareness through his writings. With vast experience in literature, the writer has shown his calibre to bring forth the problems faced in all the above categories,” the DKA stated.
Born in Pilerne, Fr Lobo joined the seminary at an early age and started writing in his spare time. His writings appeared in the prominent Konkani periodicals and he has penned around 18 religious books.
This being his maiden book in literature, will prove his ability to guide the world in his profession, the DKA said.
Both, Vauraddeancho Ixtt and Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr has bestowed awards to Fr Lobo for his dedication to Konkani language.
The function is restricted only to close friends of Fr Tomas Lobo due to the Covid pandemic. The book will be available for sale at DKA’s counter in Panaji from October 12.
