MARGAO: Fatorda Veterans edge past Bardez Veterans 2-1 to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the All Goa late Clement memorial veterans football tournament, organised by Youth of Fatrade, at Varca ground.
The game began with Fatorda displaying a rapid pace led by Francisco Andrade and Mario Rebello who controlled the midfield. Fatorda took the lead through Vincent Barbosa through a header off a cross by Francisco Andrade. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Fatorda.
Bardez Veterans responded by attempting to create opportunities through players like Gavin Araujo and Shailesh Misqiunha but lacked the necessary support. Fatorda scored their second goal through Rosario Carvalho to take the game away from Bardez. Shailesh reduced the margin for Bardez through a spot kick in the 40th minute.
