The Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board in association with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), North Goa organized a special function for distribution of honey bee boxes at Ela Farm complex, Old Goa. The function was organized under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa” initiative of Government of Goa. St Cruz MLA Antonio Fernandes, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board presided over the function, distributed around 100 bee boxes to 80 beneficiaries from North Goa. Dipaji Rane Sardessai, Vice Chairman KVIB and Dilip Paranjape Project Director (ATMA) and officials of the KVIB were also present during the occasion. Goa Khadi and Village Industries board has launched a new scheme for promotion of beekeeping industry in Goa which provides for 90%-95% subsidy on purchase of bee boxes.
Fernandes also urged the people to avail the self employment schemes of KVIB as well as other Government Departments and be a part of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa” campaign. Dipaji Rane Sardessai, vice Chairman KVIB proposed the vote of thanks, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.
