Interactive session in Portuguese by António Fonseca at GU on Dec 2

Institute Camões will be holding an interactive session of reading and conversation in Portuguese, ‘Os Lusíadas de Lisboa à Índia “ Ida’ by António Fonseca organised by the Consulate-General of Portugal in Goa, CLP-Camões and the Discipline of Portuguese and Lusophone Studies of Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, Goa University on December 2 at 5.30 pm in the CLP-Camões in Panaji. The session has the format of a conference spoken with the public, covering significant aspects of the work until the end of Canto X and is aimed, above all, at people who are not very familiar with Os Lusíadas. The actor António Fonseca will be in Goa for the first time with the project ‘Os Lusíadas como nunca ouviu (The Lusiads as you have never heard them) an audio book which is an introduction to the work and its circumstances - namely historical, political, sociological, scientific, but above all narrative, focusing on the journey, based on the lyrics of Os Lusíadas, and the imagination of the journey. The audio book presents the full speech of Camões' epic poem, centered on Vasco da Gama's first trip to India. The project conceived by António Fonseca, had the participation of Sonia Shirsat and the Menezes family, Dr Hugo Menezes, Carlos, Marlene and his grandchildren Karl and Renée, who gave voice to episodes and stanzas of Canto X.
