New office bearers of managing committee of the GOA Chapter of the Western India Regional Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) have been appointed recently to take over the affairs of the ICSI-WIRC GOA Chapter from January 19.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is a premier professional body set up under an Act of Parliament, i.e., Company Secretaries Act, 1980, for the regulation and development of the profession of Company Secretaries in India. It functions under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
The Institute, being a pro-active body, focuses on best and top-quality education to students of Company Secretaries Course and best quality set standards for CS members. The institute has over 60,000 members and about 3.5 lakh students on its roll. Company Secretaries are responsible for efficient administration of a company, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and for ensuring that decisions of the board of directors are implemented.
Newly elected chairman CS Abhijit Rane, thanked the members for extending him the opportunity to serve as the chairman of the Goa Chapter of ICSI for year 2021-2022 and vowed to continue the good work done by his predecessors.
The office bearers for year 2021-22 are: CS Abhijit Rane, chairman; CS Narendra Shirodkar, vice- chairman; CS Priya Shanbhag, secretary; CS Pravin Satardekar, treasurer; CS Swapnil J. Dixit, member; CS Divya S. Pai Vernekar, member; CS Abhijit Gaonkar, immediate past chairman.
