Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, Goa University in collaboration with Goa Human Rights Commission and in association with DD Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies, VM Salgaocar College of Law, GR Kare College of Law and Law Teachers India will be organizing the Parrikar National Moot Court and Policy Hackathon 2024 on January 11 and 12. The event symbolizes a solemn tribute to the distinguished statesmanship of the former Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar. The first part consists of the Moot Court competition. It honours Parrikar’s robust academic foundation and his dedication to the legal field. The second part of the event comprises the Policy Hackathon which provides a dynamic platform to policy enthusiasts and innovative minds to put on their thinking caps and come up with novel solutions to contemporary problems. It upholds the power of legal reform in addressing current legal challenges and promoting access to justice. The event’s goal is to provide an impetus to legal and policy innovation corroborating the principles of justice, transparency and good governance that Parrikar championed. In its inaugural edition, the Moot Court competition will witness 16 teams from across the country battling it out while the Policy Hackathon will be bringing together 9 teams from all around India vying for the ultimate crown. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa will be the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony. Alexio A.
