MARGAO: Velim MLA Cruz Silva inaugurated the Sirlim football ground, recently.
The Velim MLA unveiled the plaque in the presence of Edwin Cardozo, Zilla Panchayat member Avita Pereira, Arvind Khuttar, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs and Geeta Nagvenkar SAG Executive Director. The football ground has been constructed at the cost of Rs 1 crore and forty thousand. The ground has dressing rooms and other facilities including an artificial turf.
“It’s our tribute to the footballers and will serve platforms for youngsters," said Cruz Silva.
“It will provide a platform for the youth to play football as well. The ground will provide a holistic environment for the game," Silva added.
