The village panchayat child committee along with VP Siolim-Marna celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by placing a garland of flowers on the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and floral tributes by the Sarpanch Monali Pednekar and others.
Convenor of VDC Joaquim Barros spoke about last year’s progress of the GPDP. Gregory D’Souza Convenor of Siolim Civic and Consumer Forum briefed the gathering on the GPDP20-21. Priti Fulari from Anganwadi-Siolim spoke on the schemes available from the Women and Child Department for children and mothers. The Headmaster of Vasant Vidyalaya School, Suraj Chodankar, spoke on cleanliness and coronavirus pandemic, and how one should take care of themself and the surroundings, urging fellow Siolcars to plant more trees in the village. SSCE & HSSCE toppers and sports persons were felicitated by the panchas of VP Siolim-Marna with a cash prize of Rs 1,000 and a memento.
