PANAJI: The Consumer Welfare Club of St Francis Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Siolim celebrated World Consumer Rights Day recently.
A talk on legal metrology and packaged commodities was organised for the students of STD XI. Resource person was Inspector Vikas kandolkar of the Legal Metrology Department. He spoke at length on the legalities in the consumer market with regards to weights and measures, packaging, pricing, advertising, mandatory enforcements etc.
An awareness was created with a live demo of various products, their requirements and the illegalities happening in the consumer market.
