1 nabbed for stealing phones from Maha tourists in Arpora

A man from Jaipur has been arrested by Anjuna police on charges of stealing three mobile phones and a smartwatch all worth Rs 1.35 lakh from a group of Maharashtra tourists at a resort in Arpora. According to police, the theft took place sometime between 5 am and 8 am on August 7, while Sagar Vadhai and his friends had arrived in Goa and were staying at the resort. While they were asleep, the accused, Abdul Latif Majid (20) is alleged to have entered the room and stole three phones worth Rs 1.3 lakh and a smartwatch worth Rs 5,000. One noticing their phones and smartwatch missing, Vadhai filed a police complaint. Anjuna police checked the resort's CCTV footage and arrested the suspect.  While the three phones were seized from the accused, the smartwatch is yet to be located. Anjuna police are conducting further investigations in the matter.

Pillion rider injured in Canacona

CANACONAA pillion rider was injured when a motorcycle rammed into stray cattle in Ordhofond-Poinguinim. According to police, the rider Ramchandra Kamble of Nagarcem-Canacona rode his scooter in a rash and negligent manner and on reaching Ordhofond, lost control of the motorcycle and struck a stray cattle on the Tar road.
