The first Prof Aparajita Gangopadhyay Memorial Lecture was organised by the School of International and Area Studies (SIAS), Goa University on Tuesday at Goa University. The keynote Speaker for the seminal event is Amb R Viswanathan (IFS Retd.) a long-time Latin American specialist and strategist. The event began with the students and colleagues recalling their memories of Prof Gangopadhyay and her achievements throughout her time at the GU.
The theme of the keynote address, paying tributes to an avid Latin Americanist in Prof. Gangopadhyay, was “Whither Latin America, a Strategic Partner in India’s Growth Trajectory”, a topic, that endeavours to showcase the potential in India-Latin America economic engagement and interchange. The event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof Harilal B Menon, with Dr Dattesh Parulekar, Programme Director of SIAS, anchoring proceedings.
