Incessant digging has ruined Panaji roads

Urban Naxalism of Goa government's Smart City works takes away yet another innocent life on New Year's Day at Mala, Panaji.  Smart City has become a living nightmare for residents.  Panaji roads is notorious for its pervasive potholes and craters leaving commuters frustrated and roads hazardous.  Panaji has become pothole capital and land of forever dug-up roads.  Many of Panaji roads are currently damaged despite repairs being carried out. Even footpath at Junta house has left pedestrians furious. Especially the disabled persons who are working in Junta House have to suffer a lot thus causing all a lot of inconvenience. Some of the crossroads dug up for laying underground pipes are yet to be restored.  Unnecessary digging and shoddy restoration work have become a serious problem.  Every citizen has a right to live a meaningful and dignified life and this includes the right to good roads.  Better and safe roads for Panaji have become a distant dream. Prior to the elections, there was hurried road patch up work. With no accountability of any sort, anybody with political clout and money to bribe can dig a road with no questions asked.
