AAP Goa hails SC decision grating bail to Kejriwal

PANAJI:

Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by its Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas hailed the decision of the Supreme Court of India to release on bail the national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor scam.

Viegas who along with other leaders including Ramrao Wagh, Valmiki Naik, Roque Mascarenhas and others addressed a press conference at the party office following the developments in the national capital quoted parts of the Apex Court's judgement that referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a 'caged parrot' for effecting Kejriwal's arrest when he was on the cusp of securing bail in the ED case.

Viegas said: "Justice has finally prevailed. Truth prevails."

Kejriwal was arrested in March in the Delhi liquor scam case first by the ED and has been in jail since except for a brief period when the Apex Court granted him interim bail for a limited period of four weeks in view of the Lok Sabha elections held in May.
