MARGAO: Bardez Veterans secured a 2-1 victory over Verna Veterans to move into the next round of the Pogo Boys Cup 6.0, at Merces church ground, on Wednesday.
In a closely contested match, Lino Pereira opened the scoring in the very first minute by dribbling past a defender and netting the ball, giving Bardez an early lead. Santan Furtado later equalised for Verna Veterans with a tap-in from a low cross. However, Pereira struck again with a wonderful goal to seal the win for Bardez Veterans.
