Blood donation camp by Lions and Leo Club of Canacona

Lions Club of Canacona and Leo Club of Canacona with VVM’s Shree Damodar College NSS and NCC Unit with Red Ribbon Club Bambolim, organised blood donation camp at college premises in Margao and collected 30 units of blood. Girl students and youth donors from the Lions, Leo, NSS and NCC unit participated in the camp.

The principal of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics Prita Mallya said, “I am happy to see the women and youth donors coming forward for such a noble cause of donating blood during the pandemic.” Lion Patricia Mendonca, president of Lions Club of Canacona stressed the need to have more blood donation camps and awareness among the college youth. Dr Pascoal Dsouza, medical officer from Hospicio Blood Bank along with his team from the GMC Blood Bank helped at the camp along with Gautami Gawas, MSW, Sister Reena, staff nurse, Harish Amonkar, lab assistant and Dasharath Gaonkar, attendant assisted Dr Dsouza. Lion Babaji Sawant with Prof Sharmila Kunde and Prof Ainsley Bernard, NSS Programme Officer and Lt Sandesh Gaonkar, in-charge of the NCC (army wing) unit were also present.
