Caetano Po was elected unopposed as Corlim sarpanch at a special meeting in the panchayat on Friday.
The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of former sarpanch Chandrashekar Kankonkar.
Eight of the nine panchas present for the meeting were Caetano Po, Deputy Sarpanch Auchut Dhulapkar, Shiva Naik, Chandrashekar Kankonkar, Suman Dhulapkar, Supriya Kerkar, Samrudi Kundaikar and Mustaq Sheikh.
EORE Deepali Prabhu was the presiding officer and was assisted in the election process by panchayat secretary Naresh Gaude.
