Chief Minister Pramod Sawant read the ‘Preamble’ to the Constitution on the occasion of the Indian Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas to all the staff members of the Secretariat and Ministerial Block in the open space of the Secretariat, Porvorim yesterday.
Sawant while addressing the gathering congratulated the citizens on the occasion of India Constitution Day. It is also the day when the nation remembers Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution whom we should always respect, he added.
The chief minister further highlighted the importance of Constitution and called upon the bureaucracy to follow and adhere to it to run the country efficiently.
Chief Secretary, Parimal Rai, IAS was present on the occasion alongwith others secretaries, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
