Corlim panchayat felicitated meritorious students from the village who have excelled in the SSC, HSSC and graduation examinations. In all, 81 students were felicitated at the hands of MLA Rajesh Faldessai and other dignitaries with a certificate and a gift.
Those students who got 90% and above were given special prizes by sarpanch Baptist Pereira.
Speaking on the occasion, Faldessai urged that the students should not be coerced into entering any profession and should be allowed to make their own choice. Deputy Sarpanch Supriya Kerkar, Deccan Fine Chemicals plant manager Ranjit Salve, panchas and others were also present.
