A function to distribute prizes to the winners of All Goa Eco Friendly Akash Kandil Competition, 2020 organised by Prime TV Goa in association with Department of Information and Publicity, under Atmanirbhar Bharat-Swayampurna Goa Programme was held in the DIP office premises on Wednesday.
The objective of organising the contest was to provide a platform to the artistes from Goa and to give them much needed exposure in exhibiting their talent during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Sudhir Kerkar, Director, Department of Information and Publicity, Ramesh Naik, Joint Director and Prakash Naik and Allwyn Pereira, both Information Officers distributed prizes to the winners.
The prize winners included Girish Curtikar from Ponda who bagged the first prize and the second prize went to Dipraj Naik, Porvorim. The third prize was bagged by Hulesh Chodankar, Amona whereas the fourth and fifth prize was bagged by Vishal Palyekar, Panaji and Prathamesh Chodankar, Torda respectively. The contest was judged by Nagesh Sardessai and Krishna Naik.
While speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Kerkar complimented Prime TV Goa for taking initiative in organising the Akash Kandil Competition to provide opportunity to the artistes from Goa to exhibit their artistic skill.
Prakash Naik, Information Officer explained various schemes being implemented by the Department meant for the welfare of journalists. Nikhil Naik, Chief Marketing Executive from Prime TV was also present.
