MARGAO: Dicarpale SC made short work of Carmona SC 3-0 to enter the quarter final of the 2nd Fr. Bruno Leitao Memorial Cup 2024, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, Chinchinim Church ground, on Friday.
Carmona SC started on an attacking note, but Dicarpale defence defended well to keep then at bay, as Dicarpale players started settling by keeping the possession on the ball the pressure turned towards the Carmona defence and Ajay Raj scored from a cross off William Niaso to make it 1-0 for Dicarpale just before half time.
In the second half, Dicarpale forwards started combining well and William Niasso`s power-packed shot from the top of the penalty area entered the net with no chance for the diving Carmona goalkeeper to increase the lead 2-0 in the 15th minute. In the closing time of the match, Sahil Inamdar added his name to the score sheet by scoring the third goal for Dicarpale SC. The final score remained 3-0 for Dicarpale SC.
Player of the match was awarded to William Niasso of Dicarpale SC by Santos Rebello, Panch member Village Panchayat Chinchinim-Deussua.
