Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Saturday said year-long celebrations and events would be conducted to highlight the role and contribution of Subhash Chandra Bose to India’s Independence.
Godinho was speaking to reporters alongside a function to inaugurate a display on Bose in the pre-security check area of Dabolim Airport in the presence of Airport Director Gagan Malik and others on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra bose."We must never forget our history and Bose’s significant role in the independence of the country. The Centre has decided to celebrate the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as ‘Parakram Diwas’ this year,” said Godinho.
Airport Director Gagan Malik said Netaji continues to live in the hearts of people.
"Our aim was to allot some space for Bose and we will continue to take different initiatives because we want to earn recognition as we are the ninth busiest airport in the country,” said Malik.
“We want that our future generations and passengers who visit the airport should see this display and feel connected with Netaji,” he added.
