The mass communication department at Don Bosco College held the inaugural ceremony of the film club ‘Cinemaniacs’ with writer and director Sainath Parab as guest speaker. The inaugural session was organised by Agnelo D'Souza, faculty in-charge of the film club and Mrunalini Pai, student coordinator along with the faculty and students from the department of mass communication. The students watched the film ‘Rakhandar’ which was educational on how one must protect nature. It reflected the ignorance of youngsters when visiting picnic spots. It also displayed the devastating impact of polluting these sites with garbage.
Sainath Parab’s first Marathi film ‘Disha’ had won the best film award of Goa State and also got the award for best direction. It has entered some major festivals of India, KIFF and IFFI. Rakhandar is Parab’s first Konkani short-film. “Be passionate, experiment and technology is not a limit,” advised Parab.
