A free eye camp was organized for the staff and students of MES Higher Secondary School and College in Zuarinagar under the Goa Panchayat Mahila Shakti Abhiyaan. Sancoale Sarpanch Girish Pillai who was the chief guest also sponsored free spectacles to the students and the people who had attended the camp. Around 214 staff and students of both the institutions made good use of this opportunity to get their eyes checked and also got spectacles free of cost. Sancoale Sarpanch Girish Pillai speaking to reporters said that eye camps were the need of the hour and instrumental for students who had been burdened with online classes amidst schools closing down during pandemic.Sancoale ZP and MES PTA Chairperson Adv Anita Thorat attributed the declining ophthalmic health of students, due to excessive use of mobile phones amongst the student community due to online classes and said that it was the primary reason for organising the eye camp. MES manager and administrator of Panchayat Mahila Shakti Abhiyaan Nelly Rodrigues said that there were 30 eye camps across Goa. The team of doctors and associates of the Matoshri Seva Dham Trust were felicitated at the hands of the MES Manager Nelly Rodrigues.
