The Goa State Wetland Authority (GSWA) in a recent meeting, has approved draft notification of ten (10) water bodies as under Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2017.
Five of the water bodies identified as wetlands under these rules, are published as draft notification in Official Gazette of Goa dated November 19. Water bodies namely Toyyar Lake (Chimbel “ Tiswadi); Dhasi Lake (Revora “ Bardez); Sarzora Lake (Sarzora “ Salcete); Xeldem Lake (Xeldem “ Quepem) and Saulem Lake (Pilerne “ Bardez) have been draft notified as wetlands in the State of Goa.
The draft notification is placed before public for a period of 60 days for inviting objections and grievances to the notification of these waterbodies as wetlands.
